My special guest today was Scottish singer Emily Smith.   Emily is about to embark on her second U.S. tour – and she is not to be missed!   Emily was named Young Traditional Performer of the Year by the BBC in 2002 and in 2005 she won the USA Songwriting Competition for the folk catagory.   I am going to be presenting her at the Hurdy Gurdy Folk Club in Fair Lawn, NJ on October 13 with special guest Donal Clancy.  If any Folk DJ’s will be in the area and would like to attend as my guest, please get in touch!   Emily is only 25 years old and has a promising career ahead of her – don’t miss her if she performs in your area!

 

Today’s show was very emotional program for me – one of the hardest I’ve ever done.   My NY Mets were putting the finishing touches on the greatest collapse of alltime while I was on the air.   Folk music got me through this tragic day.   My series tickets are headed for the compost pile.
