TRADITIONS playlist for September 4, 2016
Singer-songwriter Sharon Goldman joined me in the studio this week. Sharon performed songs from her new CD “Kol Isha – A Woman’s Voice.” I also chatted with Rex Fowler of Aztec Two-Step over the phone, discussing the upcoming 45th Anniversary Concert at the Hurdy Gurdy Folk Music Club at the Fair Lawn Community Center.
In addition, we sadly paid tribute to Fred Hellerman of the Weavers, who passed away last week at the age of 89. I also paid tribute to singer-songwriter Kacey Jones, who also passed away on September 1 following a lengthy illness.
(Tune in to WFDU-FM’s TRADITIONS every Sunday from 2pm to 5pm Eastern Time over WFDU-FM 89.1 in the NYC/Northern New Jersey area, or on the web at www.wfdu.fm or iHeartRadio.com. The show can also be heard Saturday evenings at 6:30pm ET at www.bluesandroots.radio.com. On-demand streams of shows, including this one, are archived for two weeks by clicking HERE. A Sing Out!
