TRADITIONS playlist for September 11, 2016
Todayâs broadcast occurred on the 15th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks on our country. I offered songs of healing, community, friendship and love. I shared songs that were written about the tragedy from Tom Paxton, Tom Chapin with John McCutcheon & Micheal Mark, Jack Hardy, Suzanne Vega, Lucy Kaplansky, Rod MacDonald, John Flynn and others.
Singer-songwriter Judy Kass will joined me to share her story of working in the WTC and her role in the aftermath as well as the personal toll she endured. Judy performed songs from her new CD âBeyond the Ash and Steelâ and discuss how music helped, and continuous to help, the healing process. (Please visit my SoundCloud page to hear my interview with Judy as she shares her songs â Judy Kass on WFDU-FMâs TRADITIONS)
