Runa visits WFDU-FM and WFDU-FM’s TRADITIONS Playlist for June 1, 2014
WFDU-FM’s TRADITIONS
Playlist for June 1, 2014
HOST: Ron Olesko
Three members of the group Runa traveled up the NJ Turnpike from Philly to join me in our Teaneck, NJ studios. Shannon Lamber-Ryan, Fionan de Bara and Cheryl Prashker visited WFDU to share selections from their brand new CD, Current Affairs. It is a brilliant collections of tunes and songs, continuing the innovative and exciting approach to Celtic music that has been gaining fans throughout the northeast. I’ve booked the band previously at the Hurdy Gurdy, and I think they are due for a return visit! Please catch them if they come to a festival or venue near you!
New and Noteworthy – as mentioned – Runa Current Affairs (self), Rod MacDonald Later That Night (Blue Flute Music) and Annie Wenz Rain on Bare Skin (self)
(Tune in to TRADITIONS every Sunday from 2pm to 5pm Eastern Time over WFDU-FM 89.1 in the NYC/Northern New Jersey area, or on the web at www.wfdu.fm. On-demand streams of shows, including this one, are archived for two weeks HERE. A Sing Out! Radio Partner.)
