WFDU-FM’s TRADITIONS Playlist for Oct. 5, 2014
Get well wishes to my mail carrier who must be suffering from back strain with all the new recent releases she has been delivering. I commented a few weeks ago on the high volume of CDs I’ve been receiving, but the past week was almost double!
I previewed the upcoming John Gorka concert at the Hurdy Gurdy Folk Music Club in Fair Lawn, New Jersey. The concert will take place on Saturday October 11 and the evening will be opened by Canadian singer-songwriter Lindsay May.
New and Recommended: I did not have time to play everything, but there were some great new recordings were sprinkled in today’s show, including the Stray Birds Best Medicine (Yep Roc), Camela Widad Warriors of Love (self), Phil Henry Aberdeen (self), Louise Mosrie Lay It Down (self), Lee Murdock What About the Water (self) and a new single from Burning Bridget Cleary from a CD to be released in 2015.
(Tune in to TRADITIONS every Sunday from 2pm to 5pm Eastern Time over WFDU-FM 89.1 in the NYC/Northern New Jersey area, or on the web at www.wfdu.fm or iHeartRadio.com. On-demand streams of shows, including this one, are archived for two weeks by clicking HERE. A Sing Out! Radio Partner.)
