Songs for a Fabulous Fourth and Then Some – WFDU-FM’s TRADITIONS playlist for June 29, 2014
WFDU-FM’s TRADITIONS
Playlist for June 29, 2014
HOST: Ron Olesko
Since this was the last Sunday in June, a month traditionally associated with weddings, I shared a number of songs about love and marriage during the first hour, along with a few songs about affairs of the heart that just didn’t quite make it. Note to self, save this playlist – it can be used for Valentine’s Day in a pinch!
As Independence Day is quickly upon us, I also scattered a few songs fitting for the holiday throughout the show. I hope a few of these songs will give us pause to what this country truly means to its citizens and the rest of the world.
I also took the opportunity to catch up on some new recordings and listener requests.
New and Noteworthy: The Lords of Liechtenstein Girlz (with a z) (self)
(Tune in to TRADITIONS every Sunday from 2pm to 5pm Eastern Time over WFDU-FM 89.1 in the NYC/Northern New Jersey area, or on the web at www.wfdu.fm. On-demand streams of shows, including this one, are archived for two weeks HERE. A Sing Out! Radio Partner.)
