WFDU-FM’s TRADITIONS Playlist for October 11, 2009

I have been delinquent about posting my playlists for the last few shows.  This has been due to a computer crash that began plaguing me this summer.  It is amazing how I was one of the few people that actually enjoyed Microsoft Vista, and suddenly within weeks of Windows 7 release, the drivers on my computer decide they no longer work properly and keep shutting the damn thing down.  I’ve managed to stump several techs who can only recommend re-installing Vista.   Thank you Bill $(#&$* Gates!!!

Right now I am typing this on my daughter’s computer in her bedroom while she is away at college.  Posters of the Goo Goo Dolls and Jason Mraz are staring down at me. I have entered another world and I’m frightened.

While my personal troubles should lead to a unique theme set, they do not.  Instead I had a fun time hosting a show that previews the upcoming Eisteddfod Festival (www.eisteddfod-ny.org), plus sharing some new music.   I did a set of folk music married couples.

About Ron Olesko

For over 40 years, Ron has been a radio programmer with WFDU-FM in Teaneck, New Jersey. In 2019 he created www.FolkMusicNotebook.com - a 24/7 Internet radio channel devoted to folk music and is available worldwide. Ron created WFDU-FM's TRADITIONS in 1980, a show that he continues to host and produce every Sunday afternoon from 3 to 6pm Eastern Time. He's the president of and booker for the Hurdy Gurdy Folk Music Club in Fair Lawn, New Jersey, and is a regular contributor to Sing Out! as well as the host of the Folk Music Notebook blog on this site. Ron can also be found emceeing concerts and festivals around the NYC/NJ area.
