WFDU-FM’S THE SESSION playlist for July 13, 2007
Today’s show features special guest Paul Keating, the traditional music columnist for the Irish Voice and the Artistc Director of the Catskill’s Irish Arts Week and the Andy McGann Irish Traditional Music Festival. These events will be taking place next week in East Durham, NY – the heart of the “Irish” Catskills!
I would like to thank Paul for joining me on today’s show and for sharing recordings of many of the artists who will be participating in next week’s event.
While you might not be able to make it up for the entire week, I urge you to make plans to attend the festival on Saturday May 21. East Durham is about a 2 hour drive from Northern New Jersey, and it is a lovely trip that is well worth the effort. This understated festival features one of the largest gatherings of Irish traditional music talent in the world. There aren’t many opportunities to hear this many skilled musicians in one spot. The talent represented is enormous, and this festival is a bargain! Check it out!!!
