SORM Playlist #15-16: For John
(airing the week starting 4-15-15)
John Renbourn passed away suddenly recently at the age of 70. He left behind vast collection of music recorded as a solo artist, in duet with Bert Jansch and Stefan Grossman and in the bands Pentangle, The John Renbourn Group and Ship of Fools. This week we’ll listen to some of John’s music but also hear some of the fine musicians who were inspired by this wonderful guitarist. We’ll hear Martin Carthy, Pierre Bensusan, Martin Simpson, John Martyn and more. We’ll also hear some of the players who influenced John’s eclectic style. This week we bid farewell to a true original.
