SORM Playlist #14-28: It Don’t Mean A Thing
(airing the week starting 07-09-14)
“It Don’t Mean a Thing…” Folk music players have been intrigued by Swing Music for many years. This week we’ll hear some of the very best classic Swing recordings by Count Basie, Bennie Goodman, The Boswell Sisters and Django Reinhardt. Then we’ll jump head first into a set of Western Swing from Bob Wills and the Hoosier Hot Shots followed by some more contemporary players. The second half will be devoted to Peter Ostroushko, Michael Smith and we’ll be finishing up the program with a couple of surprises. Swing is alive and well on The Sing Out! Radio Magazine!
