Podcast: Songs with a Message
Episode #17-13 | airing 3-29-17
A few weeks ago I received an email message from a loyal listener. She told me her 12-year-old son was interested in Pete and Woody and was learning the banjo. The Banjo! Whew! The song he was trying to learn was “Round and Round Hitler’s Grave.” Amazing! She suggested that a program of “protest songs” might be overdue since the country was in such a political uproar. I am happy to comply. We’ll hear Pete playing the song her son is trying to learn as well as Woody Guthrie, Magpie, Eric Bibb, Phil Ochs and many more. Songs with a Message on the next Sing Out! Radio Magazine.
