ROBERT HAZARD PASSES AT THE AGE OF 59

Robert Hazard, composer of the song “Girls Just Want to Have Fun, died unexpectedly this past Tuesday at the age of 59. Robert had returned to his “country” roots in recent years and recently released a CD titled “Troubador”. The title cut expressed his admiration for the singer-songwriters of the folk revival.

We were looking forward to seeing Robert open for Eric Andersen at the Hurdy Gurdy on November 1. Eric had done some shows with Robert and was looking forward to the opportunity of sharing the stage with him once again.

The Hurdy Gurdy extends condolences to the friends, family and fans of Robert Hazard.
