Podcast: For Chuck pt 1
Episode #17-14 | airing 4-05-17
This week on The Sing Out! Radio Magazine we begin a two part feature For Chuck. We lost Chuck Berry on March 18th of this year at the age of 90. He had ceased performing but was still recording with a new CD due in June. My initial intention was to create a program of Chuck Berry covers but quickly realized that most recordings of his tunes centered on the most famous-Maybelline, Memphis Tennessee and Nadine. So I rethought the theme and instead we’ll hear two weeks of cover versions of great songs with a Chuck cover tune leading off each set. We’ll include Tom Rush, Jim Kweskin & the Jug Band, John Hammond, Bob Carlin and many more. Songs for Chuck Pt. 1 on this week’s edition of the Sing Out! Radio Magazine.
