The Pinetop Perkins Foundation is pleased to announce the names of nine recipients fort the 2011 Master Class Workshops in Piano and Guitar. These winners come from five different states, including Mississippi, Tennessee, Georgia, Texas and Colorado. Mississippi scholarship recipients are all in the music program at the Delta Blues Museum and performed on the newly-released album From Clarksdale to Kansas City, Vol. 1. The foundation is very appreciative of donations received after the passing of Pinetop Perkins in March.

The winners participated in a guitar and piano workshop led by Erqin Helfer and Bob Margolin and will be performing Friday, June 17th at Morgan Freeman’s Ground Zero Blues Club at 8pm.  Tickets can be purchased at the door for $10, with all proceeds benefiting the Pinetop Perkins Foundation.
