HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
Another year has come and gone. The older we get, the faster it seems to go. I will be hitting the half century mark in 2007 and believe it or not, I am looking forward to it! For all the problems we have in the world, these are still exciting times. I look forward to witnessing more great things in 2007!
Be sure to tune into WFDU today from 3 to 6pm. Bill Hahn and I will be looking back at some of our favorite CD’s released in 2006. This isn’t a “best of” program, simply a fond look at music that we had the honor of sharing this past year.
Looking ahead to 2007, Bill and I have great plans. We have some great guests lined up for the New Year including Bethany Yarrow & Rufus Cappadocio, Little Toby Walker, Iain Campbell Smith, the Second Fiddles, Rich Deans, Danny Bakan, Guy Mendilow and many others! Keep your dial set to 89.1FM every Sunday afternoon from 3 to 6pm. You can listen online through our website – www.wfdu.fm .
Big plans in store for the Hurdy Gurdy in 2007!!! Stay tuned for details on some exciting news! Our next concert will be on Saturday January 13 as we present the energetic Canadian group Tanglefoot. This will mark their first appearance in Bergen County, and we hope to see you out there. Visit our website at www.hurdygurdyfolk.org for more details.
In the next few weeks I will give you details about the 2007 festival season. There are some wonderful plans in store at Old Songs, Falcon Ridge, Philadelphia and other events. Stay tuned!
Again, a very happy New Year to all of you. I hope all of you have a wonderful time celebrating tonight in whatever form you choose. I will be at home with my family enjoying a good old movie and some popcorn. Many of you might be going out to some of the events that are planned for our area. (Be sure to check out the calendar on this website!) However you plan to celebrate, please be careful! We want to see everyone enjoy the great events that are in store during the coming months. Folk music is alive and well and 2007 will be memorable!
