Grammy nomination for the Klezmatics & Woody!
When I wrote about the Grammy Awards the other day, I neglected to mention this interesting nomination – the Klezmatics for “Best Contemporary World Music Album” for their recording “Wonder Wheel“, a CD of Woody Guthrie songs!
Again, I scratch my head while I try to figure out how these nominations are made, but I am extremely happy for both the Klezmatics and the Woody Guthrie foundation for this great recognition. This is another example of the power of Woody’s music – and the timelessness that it shows – and for the new songs that are being created from his words! Woody has been gone for 30 years, but he is still coming up with great songs!!
