Respect Your Elders, Part One
Episode #18-44 | airing 10-31-18
No folk musician developed his style in a vacuum. They were always influenced by a past master. Whether they learned the master’s style by listening to recording, watching film or by sitting knee to knee until the information was passed on completely. This week and next, we honor present day players and some of their influences with a program aptly named: Respect Your Elders, Part One. We’ll include blues players, bluegrassers, great vocalists and players and singers from the UK. We’ll hear Jimmy Burns, Hazel Dickens and Alice Gerrard, Sheila Kay Adams, Louis Killen and many more. Where we came from … this week on The Sing Out! Radio Magazine!
