CLUB PASSIM ON THE AIR
As many of our readers will recall, Club Passim is celebrating their 50th anniversary this year. New England’s folk radio station, WGBH, is airing a special on Saturday Sept. 6 that will feature music from the 50th Anniversary Hoot, which took place earlier this year.
Brad Paul features this special on the 50th anniversary of Cambridge’s venerable folk music hangout with music from some of the original Club 47 (Passim’s original name) performers, including The Charles River Valley Boys, Carolyn Hester, Geoff Muldaur, Peter Rowan, Jim Kweskin, Chris Smither, and more, the special also profiles the early 60’s Cambridge folk scene through the words of the artists who helped make Club 47/Club Passim its epicenter.
