Suzanne Vega chosen as NERFA Key Note Speaker
The acclaimed contemporary folk singer-songwriter, Suzanne Vega, is in line to be the first ever Key Note Speaker at the upcoming Northeast Regional Folk Alliance (NERFA) conference.
Born in Santa Monica, California and raised in New York City, Suzanne played a large role in the folk-music revival of the 1980s, releasing her self-titled debut album in 1985. Since then, she has released eight other albums that feature her clear, vibrato-less voice and her own accompaniment on the acoustic guitar. Known for her neo-folk style, Suzanne has pioneered a movement of female, acoustic, folk-pop singer-songwriters. Over the past two decades, she has performed many sold-out shows at some of the world’s best-known halls.
The NERFA conference is scheduled for November 10-13th at the Hudson Valley Resort and Spa in Kerhonkson, New York. Suzanne is scheduled to speak at 6:30 at The Manhattan Theater on Friday, the 11th, immediately following the conference dinner. You can register to participate in the NERFA conference and see Suzanne speak by visiting the website at www.nerfa.org/conference.
