Steve Gillette & Cindy Mangsen returned to the Hurdy Gurdy this past Saturday night, and an appreciative audience gave them a warm welcome. Steve & Cindy gave an outstanding performance with a blend of new songs and old favorites, and everyone had a great time. It was good to see the room filled with people enjoying terrific music.
If you are not yet on the Hurdy Gurdy mailing list, I urge you to do so. You will find out about upcoming concerts and special events (including one for May which we will announce in the next few days!). To sign up, enter your e-mail address in the box located in the top right hand corner of this webpage.
The next concert at the Hurdy Gurdy will be on Saturday March 3 – a “tune up” for St. Patrick’s day when we present Aoife Clancy (former member of Cherish the Ladies and daughter of the late Bobby Clancy of the Clancy Brothers) and special guests McDermott’s Handy.

WFDU-FM’s annual fund drive is underway. THE SESSION is off to a VERY slow start which could effect the future direction of the program. TRADITIONS did a bit better on Sunday, but we still have a lot of work to be done – and only two weeks remain.
This is WFDU-FM’s ONLY fund drive during the year. We do not come at you every quarter as some radio stations do. We hope that you will find it in your heart to support this radio station and these programs. If you enjoy the sounds of Celtic music during the noon hour on Fridays, or if you tune in for the diverse world of folk music on Sunday afternoons – please show your support. As mentioned in a previous column, the future of public radio and folk music on radio is changing. Your help can keep programs like these alive.
A great big “thank you” to everyone who has donated so far. Now it is up to the rest of the audience to do their part. Visit www.wfdu.fm for a list of available premiums and to make your pledge online.
Thanks!!!
