WHY A BLOG?

Welcome. I decided to start this blog in an effort to help promote folk music happenings in and around the New Jersey/NYC area. Since “folk” music is hard to define, this blog will also be hard to define in terms of geography and content. I will travel around in this blog as I do with my radio shows.

I will be giving information about upcoming concerts and events. Many of these will be about the Hurdy Gurdy Folk Music Club, an organization where I serve as the talent booker for concerts. I will not limit my notes to Hurdy Gurdy events. In order for folk music to thrive, ALL organizations need to work together to promote each other. A healthy community will prosper.

I will add more later, including my thoughts on this past weekends Old Songs Festival. Time to get back to the “day job”.
