Island Records has recently released a 2-CD set of acoustic demos and outtakes by Sandy Denny. Sandy passed in 1978 and this new collection is fascinating as we hear selections recorded before and after her tenures with Fairport Convention. We’ll also hear selections from her short time with The Strawbs and Fotheringay, an acoustic demo of a song that would eventually land on Rock On by The Bunch and her backing vocals on a tune on Richard Thompson’s first solo recording. All this and a few more surprises on this program dedicated to the artistry of Sandy Denny.
