PETE SEEGER WINS GRAMMY
Another well deserved recognition.
Pete Seeger has won the Grammy Award for Best Traditional Album for “At 89” (Appleseed Recordings).
This is the third time Pete was nominated in the catagory. He previously won the award in 1996 for his CD “Pete”, a recording that was produced by Paul Winter. Pete was nominated again in 2003 for “Seeds: The Songs of Pete Seeger”, a 2-CD collection that was also released by Appleseed.
In addition, Pete was honored with the Grammy’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 1993. This year, the honor was
bestowed on another beloved folk music artist – Tom Paxton.In the Contemporary Folk/Americana
Album catagory, the Grammy went to the Robert Plant and Alison Krauss collaboration “Raising Sand.”
