Martin Guitar releases Authentic D-45 Guitar
Martin’s classic pre-war D-45 has long been considered one of the most sought-after vintage guitars of all time. The D-45 holds its value better than any vintage instrument ever made. The guitar was originally created for famed cowboy-singer Gene Autry. CF Martin believes that the pre-war D-45 has the most dynamic vintage sound of any guitar he has ever heard. However, Martin realizes that purchasing one of these vintage models is rather pricey. After receiving a classic D-45 for Martin’s Guitar Museum in Nazareth, PA, engineers at Martin started working on creating an authentic reproduction of the classic D-45, using all of the building techniques and styles of the original. After some R&D, Martin is proud to announce their D-45 Authentic 1942 reissue guitar, which replicates every detail of the original pre-war D-45, down the the 100% hot hide glue construction. Top, back and side thicknesses are true to the original 1942 instrument. For more information on the guitar visit: www.martinguitar.com/news/.
