    Great post! Enjoying your perspective thoroughly. Spent a week of free time this summer trying on various arrangements of 1952 VBL. It’s certainly a song that lives and plays on the edge of control. The alternating thumb-picked base, the sliding double-stops, recurring opening motif creates this driving momentum of a run away vehicle that climaxes as James slips into delirious visions of leather-clad aerial angels. It’s also about that time that you realize that mercifully the song is over, allowing you to regain control of your guitar. A thrilling ride.

    Also agree with your review of that wonderful performance by Carson McKee and Josh Turner — such talent.
