Dick Gaughan Receives Lifetime Achievement Award
From Greentrax Records: On Monday 1 February, 2010, in London DICK GAUGHAN was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award during the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards ceremony.
Dick received his award from Neil Finn of the band Crowded House who apparently had flown from New Zealand just to do this! Remarkable.
This was quite a glittering event, full of celebs, journalist, performers, club, concert, arts centre, and festival organisers – a veritable gamut of British folk/roots music (British ‘cos of course this is event organised by the British Broadcasting Corporation’s “Folk On Two” radio programme, hosted by Mike Harding).
You can hear the whole thing on Thursday 4 February at 7pm-8:30pm.

Dick Gaughan is the only performer to be similarly honoured in Scotland and south of the Border. He adds this new award to being inducted into the Scots Trad Music Hall of Fame in Deccember 2009.
