New Pete Seeger audio book releasing in April
The music world has celebrated the voice of Pete Seeger for decades, and as the legend nears his 94th birthday, his voice will be heard anew. The new audio book, entitled Pete Seeger: The Storm King features Seeger performing poetry, telling stories and speaking about world events all set to the music of over 50 collaborating musicians. Accompanied by a diverse array of genres including bluegrass, Celtic music, folk, classical guitar, Israeli Music and even Tuvan Throat Singing, each piece assumes its own identity and truly aligns with the emotional content of the spoken words. Percussionist and producer Jeff Haynes collaborated on the project (which is set for release on April 9, 2013) with the goal of bringing musicians from around the world together to share the stage with an icon as well as bringing to light the experience and wisdom of Pete Seeger. The result is a deeply moving experience both musically and emotionally. It ultimately offers the incredible story of a legend in his own words while reminding us of what Seeger already knows: aside from living a story itself, perhaps the best way to connect to one is through music.
