1. I never met Lionel but talked to him on the phone after a mutual friend introduced us. Lionel had just started dialysis and I had been through it so I called to give him support. I became one of the many people he would send copies of his new songs. I found today Lionel has set up a CD page to benefit the National Kidney Foundation
http://fglaz.tripod.com/lionel.htm

Gary Horrell

 4. well, Lionel, for the short amount of time I spent with him, was very important in my life. Like christ, while he was with us, he was grossly underrated. I have several stories about him , but I will not bore you here. If additional insight into his life from My perspective is wanted, I can be contacted at jctny234@aol.com

 5. I was friends with Lionel from the mid 1950s and just now (4/10) heard of his passing. My condolences to his family and other friends and fellow musicians.

Wes Richards
New York NY and
State College PA

 7. Lionel was a beautiful human being who wrote songs and sang from his heart. His songs were
honest and true.
He gave of himself to humanity. For many years he was a social worker who worked with abused children in NYC.

 8. Thanks Ron for a wonderful tribute to my cousin Lionel. He was an inspiration to his family as well.
And will always be remembered as a kind and loving person.

I just want to note that Lionel was born in 1930. He was 78 when he passed away this past September.
Aaron E. Kilberg
