Everybody Swing, Pt.1
Episode #18-48 | airing 11-28-18
It is quite remarkable how much of American roots music is related to the style we know as swing. Boomers were made aware of the style through our parents who played a great deal of Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman and others on that old console stereo. Most of us had little idea what we were hearing, but others absorbed the music and took it as their own. For the next couple of weeks, we’ll dig into some great swing-style roots music. We’ll open with some classics and later feature some contemporary players whose style has been influenced by swing. It don’t mean a thing, if it ain’t got that swing … this week on The Sing Out! Radio Magazine.
