Cara Dillon Signs with Real Good Music Agency
Real Good Music Agency is very proud to announce the new signing to our Celtic Roster of acclaimed vocalist and Compass Records recording artist Cara Dillon.
Born in 1975 in Dungiven, Co. Derry, Cara Dillon demonstrated her striking vocal ability in winning the All Ireland Singing Trophy at the tender age of 14, before joining her first band, Oige, one year later.
Just the list of awards during a short period of time is enough to have folks sit up and take notice: Irish Meteor Award for Best Irish Singer, with other nominees including Sinead O’Conner and Enya, Tatler Magazine’s “Woman of the Year” Music Award, and her rendition of a Tommy Sands song gained Tommy a nomination at the BBC 2 Folk Awards for Best Original song.
In the past, Cara has toured with De Dannan, with the English group Equation, and recently with a sell out tour in 2006 for “A Woman’s Heart” featuring Mary Black, Sharon Shannon, and Maura O’Connell.
Her current touring band consists of Sam Lakeman (keyboard, acoustic guitar), James O’Grady (uillean pipes, whistles, percussion, fiddle), and John Smith (guitar, vocals).
Cara will also join the “Irish Christmas in America” tour produced by Teada, as special guest vocalist, and will tour the highly successful Christmas program for the first half of the tour from late November through December 6th, 2007.
