38th Annual SPBGMA award winners announced
The thirty eighth annual SPBGMA (Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music in America) award winners were announced. Those honored include Joe Mullins for Bluegrass DJ of the Year; Leigh and Eric Gibson for Bluegrass Song Writer of the Year and Bluegrass Album of the Year for their album Help My Brother; Darrin Vincent was awarded Bassfiddle Performer of the Year; Tim Graves was awarded Dobro Performer of the Year; Josh Williams for Guitar Performer of the Year; Larry Stephenson for Mandolin Performer of the Year; Kristin Scott Benson for Banjo Performer of the Year; and Michael Cleveland for Fiddle Performer of the Year. Jeanette Williams, Jamie Dailey, James King, and Paul Williams and The Victory Trio were all awarded for vocal talent. The group Nothin’ Fancy were awarded the Entertaining Group of the Year Award.
