Stephen Colbert is ending his long-running comedy show, The Colbert Report, tonight. Although, not a music show per se, the Report has been home to plenty of artists, such as Pete Seeger, Bruce Springsteen, Elvis Costello, Dom Flemons, Emmylou Harris, Neil Young and many many others. He’ll be moving to CBS to host the Late Show later this year, but he’ll be leaving his satirical uber-conservative persona behind. One touching moment from the show was his tribute to Pete Seeger, the night after Pete’s passing. Months earlier, Pete was guest on the Report, but they never aired footage of Pete and Stephen singing “The Hammer Song.” You can see that footage below:
