2009 FALCON RIDGE EMERGING ARTISTS SHOWCASE ANNOUNCED

The Falcon Ridge Folk Festival has announced the artists selected to perform in this year’s Emerging Artist showcase, one of the most popular events of the festival.

The following 24 artists listed in alphabetical order are confirmed for this year’s Falcon Ridge/Grassy Hill Emerging Artist Showcase from 501 total applicants. They will appear on the mainstage Friday July 24 from noon to 4:30P. Order of appearance will be posted on the Falcon Ridge website shortly.

This year’s juding committee consited of: Sarah Craig from Caffe Lena in Saratoga Springs NY, Richard Cuccaro editor/publisher of Acoustic Live in NYC and Cliff Seltzer from Gold Mountain Entertainment in Nashville.

The Falcon Ridge Folk Festival Artist Showcase is celebrating it’s 18th year and has become one of the most popular segments of the entire weekend. As usual, the FLFF takes place on the fourth weekend in July21 years of Folk Music & Dance in the BerkshiresJuly 23, 24, 25, 26, 2009 on Dodds Farm – 44 CR 7D, Hillsdale, NY

  1. I was there..and John Elliott clearly seperated himself from the pack in my opinion. Nels Andrews and AJ Roach were also very impressive performers, but Elliott's songwriting brings a unique new voice to the new folk scene. It something that we haven't heard and ideas we need to hear.

  2. Too bad one can only vote for three! Danielle Miraglia, Angelp M. Kayleigh McKenzie, Bread and Bones, the Brilliant Inventions get my votes!
