Campbell and Williams' Larry Campbell and Teresa Williams

Larry Campbell & Teresa Williams –
Larry Campbell & Teresa Williams

label: RED HOUSE

Any time I see Larry Campbell’s name in a new album’s credits I waste no time taking a hard listen, especially if he is producer. Here Larry and his wife and musical partner Teresa Williams have finally made their own album, and the long wait was most assuredly worth it. Behind Larry and Teresa bassist Byron Isaacs, Justin Guip on drums save the one the late Levon Helm is on, Bill Payne on keys and Amy Hels’s occasional additional harmonies blend into a comfortable, adept band. Larry wrote or co-wrote eight of the eleven songs, and the three covers are all gorgeous. Teresa’s singing is ever thrilling. Larry Campbell & Teresa Williams is an album I expect to be listening to for quite a long time to come. — MT
