Update on Past Shows

Our friends at the Plank Road Folk Music Society and Two-Way Street Coffeehouse in Downer’s Grove, Ill., hosted a very successful Anniversary Celebration and Fundraiser on June 6th at the First Congregational Church Auditorium (home of the Two Way Street Coffee House). The show featured Anne Hills, Sons of the Never Wrong, Eric Noden and Joe Filisko, with a cameo appearance by Ella Gill, raising more than $3700 for the cause! Click HERE for some photos and video from the concert!

Smaller, but no less fun was the show held in the Phoenix, Arizona, on June 19th, at the Fiddler’s Dream Coffeehouse, featuring performances by Joe Bethancourt, Jack Alves, Rocky Road, and Jam Pak Neightborhood Blues Grass Band. Check out pics and music from the show HERE.

Thanks to all the performers and organizers!

The Song Quilt Project

S ing Out! has been part of the fabric of the folk community for 60 years now – collecting, preserving and supporting the music that is so much a part of our lives and our history. For our anniversary, we have launched a project that will enable everyone to join together to help ensure our survival into the future.

Here’s your opportunity to sponsor a ”song patch“ on a virtual quilt created from the more than 4,000 songs that have been shared through Sing Out! since 1950. For each $25 contribution you can be listed as the permanent ”sponsor“ of a song. You can choose how you'd like to be listed online, and you'll receive a ”Thank You“ certificate noting your fully Tax-deductible contribution!

Simply click the quilt image above for instructions on how to search for and submit your reservation for any specific song!

And thanks for your support!!

A New Special Edition Signature Martin Guitar!

We’re still in the “too early to announce” stages on this one, but we’re very excited about the special edition instruments that Martin Guitars will be releasing later this year in celebration of our 60th Anniversary! There will be not one, but TWO signature model guitars (both a 6- and a 12-strong version) based on Pete Seeger’s iconic guitars (originally handmade by luthier Bruce Taylor).

Each of these limited edition signature “Where Have All the Flowers Gone” guitars (dubbed in honor of Pete’s classic song AND his recently revised/reissued autobiography) will feature special inlays as well as the extended scale and unique soundhole/pickguard design that is so recognizeable on Pete’s instruments.

Check back here regularly for more specs and release date info ... these are going to go fast!

Key to Spring Issue
Cover Collage!

You ask, we respond! A number of readers have requested a key to the terrific collage that our art director Ed Courrier assembled as a quilt for the cover of our Spring issue (v.53#3, the first issue in our year-long 60th anniversary celebration). Just click the image above and you'll be taken to the key.
